This year Konstrundan takes place during the first weekend in September. During Saturday 2.9 and Sunday 3.9, the artists keep their studios open from 11 to 17. You can familiarize yourself with thisyear’s participants on Konstrundan's website. Also follow Konstrundan on Facebook and Instagram, where we publish works by the participants. These give a comprehensive picture of the breadth of what can be seen during Konstrundan.
On our website, you can explore artists' profiles and with the accompanying map, you can find art close to wherever you are in the country. The purpose of Konstrundan is to increase understanding of domestic contemporary art, crafts and design by creating meetings between the public and the creative actors. Konstrundan supports the participants in their professional practice by offering new customer contacts and networks.
“During the Konstrundan weekend, visitors have a chance to be inspired by artists, their studios and their working methods, as well as purchase unique works directly from the creator themself. Artists, on the other hand, get to showcase their work, offer workshops and have direct contact with visitors. An irreplaceable added value for all parties! As a newly inaugurated project manager, I am very happy and grateful to be part of maintaining and developing such a fine platform as Konstrundan." - Frida Gullichsen, project manager
WIN WORKS OF ART IN THE LOTTERY
Konstrundan is organizing an art raffle again this year, where we will raffle eight artworks by Konstrundan participants. Konstrundan has bought all the works and they are now included in the draw. There are e.g. paintings, jewellery and ceramics as prizes. The lottery is free of charge for visitors and you can fill out a ticket at each visit point. Winnings are presented at each visit point and online. The winners will be drawn and announced on all our channels in October.
ART FRIDAY – ART FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
For this year's Art Friday, which takes place on September 1st, Konstrundan launches an art assignment, this time by the artist Majbritt "Maikku" Huovila. The assignment is aimed at all children of primary school age, but anyone with a childlike mind can of course start creating as well. The film is produced by Filmbutik and will this year once again be in Swedish, Finnish and English. In order to also reach out to older children, we offer the opportunity for school and student groups to visit studios on Art Friday.
Close to 150 artists around the country receive group visits this year! The invitation to book group visits has also been sent to associations, companies, etc. The list of the participants who receive groups on Friday 1 September can be found on our website. The group that is interested can contact the artist themselves and book their visit.
This year we also have the Konstrundan Bingo again! Go to Konstens fredag www.konstrundan.fi/art_friday to find the bingo form. Fill in the squares ding the visits and see who is the first to shout bingo!
NEW PROJECT MANAGER
Martina Lindberg has served as Konstrundan's project manager from 2019 to 2023. Now in August, Martina has passed the torch to Frida Gullichsen, who has now taken over as the new project manager. Under Martina's leadership, Konstrundan has developed on several different levels.
In Frida, Konstrundan gets an enthusiastic and knowledgeable project manager. "Since the beginning of 2023, I have worked as a regional contact for the Greater Helsinki region", says Frida, "so I have a good picture of Konstrundan as a project and I am inspired to be part of developing this fantastic platform".
Frida has a bachelor of arts in communication as well as studies in visual communication and art curation in France and in Finland. In the past years Frida has worked as a cultural producer in artrelated projects; e.g. as an event organizer, art curator and radio show host and has thus worked with artists in several different formats.
