Information about the artist / the group

I have been an artist and painter for almost 40 years. For a large part of my life, I lived and painted in Latvia, but for nearly ten years now, I have been doing so in the Åland Islands. I primarily paint still lifes and various objects along with their details, creating an interesting and original atmosphere around them. In recent years, I have also worked with pastels and taught courses for art enthusiasts. I have also given courses on classical and modern icon painting.

Together with the artist Zane Brence, who is also my life partner, we create various projects in jewelry design and production, as well as textile printing. Kulla Konst Studio is our joint project, based in our home in the village of Kulla, in Sund Municipality, in the Åland Islands.

Program during Konstrundan

My exhibition is called "Close-Ups", and it will feature fragments of various objects found in homes and nature. It could be a piece of a large ship, a small gear fragment, or everyday items that surround us in our homes—things we have only observed from a distance until now. I invite you to come closer and take a proper look at them – IN CLOSE-UP.

My works will be framed in unique, handmade frames, crafted with a special technique.
