Information about the artist / the group

I lived in France for 35 years, and studied and graduated as a ceramicist and specialized in raku ceramics in 2012. I moved back to Finland about 8 years ago.
I create my own glazes from natural oxides, when I test my own shades. Raku- firing is a real source of wonder for me: it is a technique that leaves place for unexpected, uncontrollable magic. It is this surprise that excites me.
My art is inspired by Finnish nature, fire, smoke, reduction, works containing geometric shapes, often influenced by northern animals and birds, plants. I work mainly playing with the contrasts of the smoke and white glaze, as well as the shades of blue and green, and the lustre effect of the reduction phase of raku- firing.
The result is always a surprise.

Program during Konstrundan

This weekend I will be presenting my workshop, my raku pottery techniques, my own glazes. I will also be presenting my raku kiln and my stall. My ceramic works are also on display in my own home and there is also the opportunity to buy them.
