Information about the artist / the group

Sculptor and designer Arni Aromaa (1971) uses ceramics and glass as his main materials. In recent years, he has studied the combination of ceramics and glass in the firing process. Aromaa utilizes a variety of methods from mould casting and pressing to hand building in larger works. The works are inspired by nature, but their design language, finishing and implementation techniques are strongly based on the training of Aroma's industrial designer. Aromaa has participated in numerous joint exhibitions and his works are in the collections of the State and Museum of Modern Art EMMA, among others. He has received several design awards, including the State Design Award 2012 together with his colleague Sauli Suomela.
