Hi! My name is Rebecca Sandelin and I am an artist-photographer and researcher exploring intersections between photography, art and visual culture. My practice is one of world-making where I play with contexts to try and question our assumptions, perceptions and understanding of them. My work explores phenomena relating to the photographic image, art and their respective histories, theories and cultural interrelations. I also explore humanity’s footprint in the environments we inhabit, both human-made and natural. Play, wonder and curiosity are three core aspects of my work and I work by means of interventions, appropriation and re-contextualisation through photography, video, installation, object, audio and scent.

Program during Konstrundan

During Konstrundan, you are welcome to visit my workroom that is part of my private home. I will be exhibiting and selling artworks and am happy to discuss photograpy, arts and culture. I will also be arranging workshops where you can create an artwork from an old photo card and materials from my storage. I will also serve refreshing beverages, coffee, tea and something to nibble on. In the gallery next door, which I own and run, another artist will be exhibiting their works.

The workspace and gallery is located 550 metres from the railway station and 350 metres from the Town Hall Square in Ekenäs. If you are coming from the railway station, follow Torngatan past S-market until you reach Björknäsgatan, then turn right until you reach Björknäsgatan 2.
