Information about the artist / the group

Life on a Leaf is a total artwork by artist Jan-Erik Andersson. The house is an artist and researcher residence, a visitor attraction, and a meeting place. The house was completed in August 2009 in Turku. This unique house was designed by Andersson together with architect Erkki Pitkäranta. The house was part of Andersson's artistic doctoral thesis, which he completed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki. Today, the house serves as an artist residence. Our resident artist in September is the Danish artist and curator Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen.

For Konstrundan, our resident artist Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen & artist Malte Steiner will as TMS perform their sound piece Occurrences (40 min). The concert will take place on Saturday at 14

Sunday 6.9: Artist talk 14.00
An artist talk about Tina Mariane Krogh Madsens practices and research will take place at the Leaf house. During the open house some of their artistic works will be installed to see and hear as well. The artist talk will take place on Sunday at 14

Driving directions

We recommend using public transport or cycling. Buses 51, 53 and 71 stop nearby, other buses towards Hirvensalo stop a 1.4 km walk from the house. By bike the distance to central Turku is about 6 km. If needed, cars can be parked opposite the house on Vanha Kakskerrantie during the event. We will mark the parking area.
