Nisa Ojalvo is an American photographer & installation artist with a focus on durational performance art & site-specific environmental portraiture. Her work examines language, transmission of cultural know-how & linguistic preservation efforts in local communities. Nisa has been published in Art Asia Pacific, Boston Globe, KunstForum & The New York Times. Her work is in museum collections - ICA Boston, Tate Modern Archives, Spencer Art Museum. Nisa has shown in Asia (ChangJiang Contemporary Art Museum, China & Objectifs, Singapore), Scandinavia (Kunstgarasjen and Galleri 2, Norway) & the UK (Plas Bodfa & Stiwdio Maelor, Wales). She has garnered residencies in Wales, Italy & the US (Millay Arts, fully-funded AiR & VCCA). Ojalvo studied photography at Dartmouth & ICP in New York City.
I welcome you to my open studio, where I will show you my works-in-progress during my artist residency in Finland at Hub Feenix.
The residency cafe will also be open and tours of the art complex will be offered.
