I’m a sculptor and environmental artist Hanna Marno (b. 1981 in Helsinki). I live and work in Siikainen, Satakunta. My artistic approach is landscape and community-based. I present art in galleries, museums and different environments as temporary installations and public art.
Currently, I prefer to work with living materials. Although from the perspective of a sculpture, it’s completely irrelevant whether we’re dead or alive. It’s just that certain beings, gestures, objects, thoughts, growth paths and even their diagnosis are closer to life and thus, prescient in my mind. My sculptures forms grow into mushroom colors, minerals, color maps, stories, rumours and narratives of landscapes.
Studio visitors will see my artistic process with natural dyes, plaster, special wood and art fertilizer. There’s sculpting with natural clay if the weather permits, coffee and cookies.
