Anne Rantanen is a Lahti-based artist dedicated to Chinese ink painting,
who has expanded her expression with translucent rice paper by layering it and combining
it with other elements. Her works celebrate the joy of seeing.
Since 1982, she has studied Chinese ink painting in Bangkok and
Geneva under the guidance of several Asian artists, delving into the traditional brush technique of both the
xieyi and gongbi styles. She is also inspired by working rice paper into
layers, which when translucent create three-dimensional patterns.
After 24 years abroad, she returned to Finland in 2016. In Lahti,
she has a studio in the Svinksi studio community, where she holds ink painting afternoons.
Staircase 23 A can be found at the back of the parking lot in the courtyard, in the left inner corner. Take the stairs to the fourth floor. If you need an elevator, call the Svinski number you’ll find on the lower door and we will guide you to the elevator. On Google maps, the place can be found at the same address as Nick's Dancing ry.
