Ceramics, Environmental art
I create ceramic sculptures, wall reliefs, and some functional ceramics. I am interested in the limits of clay: what kinds of forms, glazes, surfaces, and firing temperatures clay can withstand. I work with a wide variety of clays and glazes.
At the moment, I am exploring the theme of mountains, trying to understand what makes a mountain a mountain and what a mountain signifies on a spiritual level. This theme also connects to Japanese culture, which fascinates me deeply. Another current area of interest is geometric wall reliefs that combine the regularity of natural forms, architecture, and clay’s inherent desire to move and shape itself freely.
I have studied ceramics, design, and art education, and I have been creating ceramic works for 20 years.
My studio is located in connection with my home, with direct access from the street. The studio is equipped for ceramic work, including kilns and a pottery wheel.
Sculptures and wall pieces are on display both indoors and outdoors. Sculptures, experimental works, and functional ceramics are available for sale. You may also have the opportunity to see how I create my works.
