Drawing, Others, Painting
I am a Finnish artist living in Italy and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. My visual world often grows out of
literary influences and themes. I have created exhibition projects inspired by texts by E.T.A Hoffmann, Juhani Peltonen and
Bruno Schulz. In my works I use recycled materials, especially old glued books. They combine icon-like qualities, three-dimensionality and wordless narratives that the viewer can complete in their own imagination. My works are collage paintings.
In the early 1980s, I participated in the activities of the Ö- Group in Finland and have since then held numerous solo exhibitions
in Finland, Italy and elsewhere in Europe. I am a member of the Finnish Painters Union.
During Konstrundan, Alppigalleria will host the joint exhibition “Between Two Worlds”, featuring my work together with that of Merja Salonen Di Giorgio. We will both be present at the gallery to chat and introduce the exhibition.
