In my printmaking I am fascinated not only by visual expression but also by the rich, eventful techniques and their various combinations. I usually combine several different techniques and plates. The process requires concentration: it’s just me, my imagination, and the plate. Chance often has a hand in things, and there is a charm in that as well. It must also always be remembered that the image that appears on the paper is a mirror image of the plate.
My works often draw inspiration from the environments and architecture I see while traveling. I don’t depict scenes exactly as they are; instead, elements created by my imagination blend into them. My style is generally quite detailed. I want my pieces to bring joy and to give the viewer’s imagination wings.
