Crafts, Design, Textile
I am a textile artist and designer based in Lahti, Finland. At the heart of my creative process is storytelling, which I bring to life through weaving and embroidery. I am fascinated by stories and folk art – they carry timeless wisdom about humanity and culture. However, my greatest inspiration comes from nature, and my work is characterized by a fusion of internal mindscapes and natural landscapes.
My approach is experimental yet meticulous. I find deep satisfaction in the technical aspects of weaving, where materials, colors, and structures serve as interpreters for emotions and atmospheres. My work is guided by sustainable material choices and an interest in the well-being effects of art. My goal is to create pieces that are both conceptually moving and masterfully executed.
During the event, I will open the doors to my studio and present the various stages, materials, and techniques of textile art. On display will be works in progress as well as a broader retrospective of my production over the years. A special exhibition will be showcased in my studio and the common areas of the Svinksi studio community. Visitors will also have the opportunity to try weaving for themselves, using either a loom or a weaving frame.
The door to the stairwell is in the courtyard, behind the parking lot in the inner corner. Take the stairs to the fourth floor. If you need an elevator, call the number on the stairwell door and we will guide you to the elevator.
