Kokkola began her artistic career in the 1980s in Paris, where, alongside her architectural studies, she drew and created experimental jewelry and lighting works. These early works were presented in exhibitions in Sweden, Finland, and Paris. After spending 20 years in Paris, Kokkola returned to Finland, where her career as an architect continued. In 2016, she participated in a course exploring the world of oil painting organized by the Helsinki Artists’ Association. This sparked a true turning point, leading her to discover a new kind of inspiration. Since then, the artist has painted passionately every day. Kokkola is a bold user of color and paints unapologetically subjects that inspire her. In 2026, she serves as a board member of the Salo Artists’ Association.
My studio is located in the courtyard of my detached house and is a separate building of approximately 65 m². In my studio there is an entrance hall, a storage room for paintings, and a high workspace with a loft. I can display about ten works on the walls (they are fairly large). In my studio I present my works and talk about myself and about the process of making art. In the yard, under a canopy tent, I will set up a long table with refreshments: juice, coffee, tea, and both savory and sweet.
