Information about the artist / the group

My name is Sara Koskinen, and I primarily work with printmaking as my artistic medium. I began working with printmaking in 2016 and have continued ever since. My works are created at the shared studio of Vasa Printmakers, located in the Kasern area in Vaasa.

Within printmaking, I mainly focus on intaglio. I etch my images into copper plates and then use a method called aquatint. This technique allows me to create different tones and depth in my works. I usually create highly colorful images with many details. I am inspired by Finnish nature and fairy tales in all their forms, which can be seen in my imaginative works.

Program during Konstrundan

During Konstrundan, we will open our doors for the whole weekend, and a few members of Vasa Konstgrafiker will present and sell their printmaking works. You can see finished prints and printing plates, and learn how a work develops from idea and sketch to a completed print. We will be present all weekend and are happy to answer your questions.
