Information about the artist / the group

Reeta Leinonen (b. 1991, Keuruu) is a painter based in Helsinki, known for her vibrant oil paintings. In her work, the human figure and everyday life take center stage, and her visual language is marked by a graphic quality influenced by illustration and street art, as well as simplified, flat areas of color.

Leinonen draws on her own life experiences as the driving force behind her art. Neurodivergence and the ongoing balancing act between personal endurance and external demands form a central thematic foundation in her practice. In her paintings, she explores the struggles of everyday life and feelings of inadequacy with a subtly humorous touch.

Leinonen’s works have been shown in several solo and group exhibitions in Finland, including at Turun Taidehalli, Villa Suruton and Galleria 4
