Information about the artist / the group

I am Art VickyMaa / Vicky Maaranen, a visual artist (M.A.) and founder of Ateljé Oceanborn Art in Nurmijärvi. Nature, the sea and colour form the core of my practice. I paint with acrylics, oils, cold wax and beeswax, blending abstract and representational expression. Cold wax–oil painting is my newest direction, where layered textures and shifting light create depth and presence.
I explore the changing states of nature and moments that condense into color. I teach in Nurmijärvi and Järvenpää and offer courses across Finland. In 2019 I received an honorary award from the municipality of Nurmijärvi for my cultural work. My works invite the viewer to pause and discover a personal story.

Program during Konstrundan

Welcome to Ateljé Oceanborn Art to explore my latest acrylic, oil and cold wax–oil works. During Konstrundan I will host a small Encaustic Art workshop, where you can try beeswax painting and take your own artwork home.
The studio also offers new paintings for sale as well as a clearance selection of older works.
Oceanborn Art invites you to pause, breathe and be inspired.
