Sibel Kantola was born in Turkey in 1978, from where her family moved to Moscow to follow her father's work. There she took private art lessons in high school. After growing up, she moved to Kentucky in the United States, where she studied graphic design and fine arts (Bachelor of Arts) at the University of Louisville. Kantola has also lived in South Korea, where she had several successful art exhibitions. Today, she lives with her family in Kaarina and has been the hostess of Mökki Galleria, which she founded in a 200-year-old workers' cottage, for 9 years. She is a visual artist, gallerist, graphic artist, clothing designer and book publisher and has illustrated five fairy tale books.
During Konstrundan, guests are welcome to see the lovely old Mökki Galleria and enjoy the colourful art of Sibel Kantola in her studio. Mökki Gallleria functions as giftshhop as well. The guests can explore lovely cards and posters and art for any budget. We will also have coffee available during the time. 5.9. at 12-15.00 is the opening exhibition of the artist Maj-Lis Tanner. The artist is telling about her works. Warmly welcome!
