Information about the artist / the group

I am Annika Brandt, a visual artist and art educator, holding a Master of Arts degree from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. My studio is located in Nikkilä, Sipoo, in premises managed by Sipoon taiteilijat ry at the Art Centre Artborg 35.

The subjects of my works range from croquis drawings to dreamlike worlds. I work primarily with acrylic and oil paints, charcoal, and liquid ink, often using mixed media to create a sense of freedom, joy, and spontaneity.

I am happy to talk about the works on display and how ideas emerge. My portfolio and sketches are available for visitors. I gladly share thoughts on artistic practice, I listen attentively, and I naturally also allow visitors to experience the visual environment in complete peace and silence.

I am happy to tell visitors about the works displayed and hung in my studio — how they came into being and what kinds of events have inspired my ideas. I take pleasure in hearing visitors’ own interpretations of the works that have captured their interest. I also explain the different techniques I have used. My artist portfolio is available for those interested to browse, and a large number of sketches are laid out for closer viewing.
