I am a visual artist, born in 1960 in Helsinki. I live and work on Vessö island in Porvoo. I have been painting for over 20 years, the last 5 as a full-time artist. I am best known for my colourful, humorous birds which I paint on canvas, paper or wood in different sizes. I mostly use mixed media: acrylics, ink, watercolour, charcoal, graphite or collagepaper, which I paint or print myself..I also paint smaller abstract works, which have a recemblance to expressive landscapes. These I first paint on a big paper and then tear in pieces and put together in a new way. "I paint with a twinkle in my eye. I am most happy when I cheer up the viewer, even make someone laugh."
