Information about the artist / the group

I am a craftsman who has worked with many different techniques and materials. I am a vocational teacher by training and have studied handicrafts, art and entrepreneurship through several courses. In recent years I have made photo ryijys, a traditional Finnish wall rugs. I photograph nature and edit the photos into a model image of a rug, according to which I sew the rugs to a Finnish rug base fabric. I currently work in Somero, in my company Kädenjäljet. Kädenjäljet is a 200 square meter space for handicrafts, arts and crafts, art and an art gallery. It also has room for my own rug work station and my own sewing station.

Program during Konstrundan

I will show you how I make my rugs at the rug work station I designed. The Kädenjäljet ​​store gallery also displays/sells over a hundred other producers' products, from wooden stools to miniature sculptures, from linen tunics to coasters, from earrings to hand towels, intarsia, iron, rugs, granola, candles and all kinds of beautiful things. The gallery has an art exhibition and the store operates an Art Loan Service.
