Sanna Rintalaulaja is a designer, Master of Arts, and ceramic artist whose recent work consists of angular sculptures and tactile reliefs. Her method of composing reliefs from small, hand‑shaped pieces originates from her background in jewellery design. The surfaces reveal wavy, crumpled, fringe-like and curly textures. These material‑driven works emerge in the space between planning and intuitive making, where trusting the hands’ way of thinking is essential. The rhythm of the surface structure and the refined glazes are accentuated in the pieces.
The stylish gallery space of Studio BOM showcases an exhibition that highlights the materiality of art.
