Siiri Ahonen is a designer, visual artist, and costume designer. The core themes of her artistic practice are play, community, and collective emotions. The central cornerstones of Ahonen’s work are movement, costume, and the human being. She works as a costume designer in the field of dance and collaborates as a member of working groups in various performing arts projects.
During Konstrundan, Ahonen’s video artwork Hetken olen Omenamato will be on view. Through themes of dress, play, and adulthood, the work explores the question: if you could be anything for a moment, what would you be? Everyday adult life is often experienced as a performance-driven hamster wheel. The piece invites people to reflect on their own daily lives through a sense of playfulness. The duration of the video artwork is 5 minutes.
You can arrive through the gateway on Saimaankatu or from Oikokatu. The door to the studio is located in the inner courtyard at Aleksanterinkatu 33.
