Painting
"I have been working as a visual artist since 1979, when I moved to the Torne River Valley after completing my art studies in Helsinki. For the past 30 years, I have lived in Helsinki again, and in recent years, I have been working in my studio in Taka-Töölö.
Oil and watercolor have been my primary painting techniques.
A few years ago, I had the privilege of working in Claude Monet’s famous garden in France for the month of June. All kinds of nature- and garden-related themes continue to inspire me, whether in my own allotment garden, the nearby forests, or at the edge of meadows. In the Konstrundan exhibition, I present garden and nature motifs from both France and Finland, reflecting the beauty
I wish to create around me."
"Presentation of the exhibition's watercolors and oil paintings, along with stories behind the choice of subjects: Working in Giverny, France, or in the Finnish nature and working outdoors using the Plein air technique whenever possible and painting nature themes in the studio."
