Topi Ruotsalainen is an Espoo-based visual artist and painter. He has become known for his figurative oil paintings in which he depicts people. Ruotsalainen's people are often in spaces or situations, alone and together, in groups and networks. Through these different groupings, Ruotsalainen raises subtle questions that reflect the surrounding society and the events of our time. Ruotsalainen graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts with a Master of Fine Arts in 2009 and from the University of Art and Design with a Master of Arts in 2005. Ruotsalainen's works are in numerous private and public collections both in Finland and abroad. Internationally, his works have been exhibited in, for example, Berlin, New York, Paris and London.
