Visual artist Miia Elisa Westerlund (b. 1968) lives and works in Porvoo. In her artistic practice, Westerlund uses painting, serigraphy, photography, textiles, and moving image. Her art has grown and evolved through experimentation over the years, yet its central theme – the human being and society – remains constant.
In her works, Westerlund reflects on what she sees, experiences, and hears around her. In life, as in art, she loves irony, dark humor, and passionate discussions. Westerlund’s works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions both in Finland and abroad.
