Information about the artist / the group

Artturi Nokelainen (Helsinki) paints with thin layers of color, where different shades on the painting form images of three-dimensional spaces. He experiments in color area painting with colored pencils. He also builds sculptures and installations.
He is influenced by the phenomena of space, metaphysics and music. Nokelainen's works often with a real model (e.g. a person, a stuffed animal toy or a plant), but the working can also start with an abstract idea, a news headline or an inner feeling.
In the flow state, he is free from his own limitations and feels like an instrument of the universal spirit of art.
