Information about the artist / the group

I am a visual artist and ceramicist from Sipoo, with a Master of Arts degree.

The starting point of my works is often the need to explore current phenomena that are important to me. The subjects of my recent paintings have been drawn from the local nature and my own garden. Trees and reflections are elements that have been present in my works for a long time. Painting them is a continuous exploration.

Ceramics has been my artistic expression since childhood. I use hand-building techniques in my work. "The ceramic ladies" have been a project that has been going on for a few years now, and they are inspired by my favorite childhood books, written by the Swedish author Elsa Beskow. The ladies are also influenced by the works of Henri Matisse.
