Information about the artist / the group

Maria is a mental health awareness sculptor, who creates sculpture from clay and chicken wire. When creating sculpture from clay, Maria adorns it with different descriptive elements after it has been treated in the kiln. Maria's sculpture also gives her inspiration to create jewellery.
Maria has participated in numerous group exhibitions among which was exhibition “Rituaalit” at Galleria Toinen Silmä. As a long-standing member of Helsinki International Artists’ Association (HIAA) Maria has exhibited her works in group exhibitions in Helsinki City Museum, Kaapelitehdas and Suomenlinna.
At the moment Maria is a chairperson of HIAA and arranges exhibition opportunities for international artists living in Finland, as well as volunteers her free time to social causes.
