Information about the artist / the group

Maria Liitola, Fine Artist, Master of Fine Arts. I live and work in Turku. I first picked up a brush when I was 8 years old, when I started studying oil painting at a local artist's studio. I started studying fine arts right after finishing comprehensive school, and I am still on that path. I have completed 11 semesters of study, and I have worked as a visual artist full-time the rest of the time. I paint using a combination technique: The works are often based on a charcoal drawing and acrylic painting, which I continue with spray and oil paint techniques. The themes of the works touch on the exploration of the concept of existence. The images often feature a person, and the works are partly photorealistically executed.

The studio offers a work demonstration, croquis drawing, and coffee and buns.
